These Terms & Conditions apply to SMS messaging communications sent through the JoinScouting Event Communication Program.

Program Description

JoinScouting provides tools that allow local scouting units to organize events and communicate with families who register for those events.

By providing your phone number and opting in through an event registration form, you agree to receive SMS messages related to:

  • Event reminders
  • Event updates
  • Responses to questions
  • Follow-up communication related to scouting activities
  • Occasional invitations to upcoming scouting events

Messages are sent by the local scouting unit organizing the event.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the events you register for and your communication with the scout unit. Messages may include reminders, updates, responses to questions, and information about scouting activities.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.

Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive.

After sending STOP, you will no longer receive SMS messages from that scout unit unless you provide consent again.

Help and Support

For help with the messaging program, reply HELP to any message.

You may also contact the scout unit organizing the event through the JoinScouting website.

Consent to Receive Messages

By entering your phone number on an event registration form and checking the SMS consent box, you expressly agree to receive SMS messages related to scouting events and communications from the scout unit organizing the event.

Your consent to receive SMS messages is not required to participate in scouting events.

Privacy

Your information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

JoinScouting does not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Platform Use

JoinScouting provides tools that allow local scouting units to organize events and communicate with participants.

Each scouting unit is responsible for the events they organize and the communications they send through the platform.

District or council organizations may have access to aggregated event statistics such as attendance totals or activity reports, but no personally identifiable information is shared with them.
